O'DA Art is honored to present I See (Wo)men as Trees, the highly anticipated solo exhibition by Nigerian artist Taiye Idahor. This marks her first solo exhibition in Nigeria in a decade and it’s set to captivate art lovers and collectors alike.
I See (Wo)men as Trees is an intricate exploration of ownership, freedom, identity, and the rich legacies passed down through generations of women. Taiye’s work portrays women as individual and collective figures, emphasizing their role as living embodiments of history. Her art suggests that women, like trees, continually branch out while remaining firmly grounded in the soil of their ancestry.
This multi-layered exhibition will feature works that inspire reflection on the evolving narratives of identity and cultural heritage and how the past shapes the present.
The exhibition opens on October 26th, 2024, and runs until November 30th, 2024, at 10 Sir Samuel Manuwa Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. The opening reception promises to be an unforgettable experience.
